The 75th Air Depot Wing was constituted in 1951 and activated at Kelly A.F.B., Texas in early 1952. At full strength of approximately 3700 personnel, 125 were Air Policemen. For most of 1952, the Wing trained and prepared for shipment to France. Once on board the U.S.N.S. General W. H. Gordon, they found themselves heading for the Panama Canal, Japan and Korea. After a stop in Japan the Gordon docked in Pusan, South Korea and the troops boarded LST's for K-10 Air Base near Chinhae.
